We are delighted to again bring this unique event to Whitchurch Village, a leafy suburb of Cardiff.

Widely regarded as one of the best 5K Races in the United Kingdom it has an atmosphere second to none, so get ready for the race of your life !

We Run The Streets

Participants will be able to Race, Run, Jog or Walk this unique once a year 5K closed road route.

It always brings together a first class field of athletes keen to sample the electric atmosphere and take on this fast, spectator lined route.

All Runners get the Limited Edition Names "Cardiff 5K - Race For Victory" Technical T-Shirt which features the names of all those who enter.

VERY IMPORTANT

The event is a Race under the rules and regulations of Welsh Athletics, so it will be timed and official results will be posted

Age Limits - Competitors must be 11yrs old or over to run the Cardiff 5K

The race will be fully marshalled, and the course is marked to national standards.

All prizes are awarded for collection at the prize giving ceremony on the race day only;
unclaimed prizes can't be delivered, nor collected, later.

The race starts at 7pm.

All Runners get a FREE Limited Edition Names "Cardiff 5K - Race For Victory" Technical T-shirt, which features the names of all those who enter.

CLUB RUNNERS
If you are competing in the Welsh Road Running Championships you MUST wear your club vests
INTER AREA RUNNERS
If you are competing in The Inter Area Championships you can wear your National / Team vests
ALL OTHER RUNNERS
It would be great if you could wear the Race T-shirt to start the event, although this is not a requirement"

RACE ROUTE

The 5K Course

On Sunday 2nd May 2027 a temporary road closure will be implemented from 3pm till 12 midnight on the section of Merthyr Road between The Plough and the Fino Lounge.
This will house the Start / Finish Area

The race starts at 7pm To ensure the safety of competitors / marshals and the public it will involve the implementation of a temporary rolling road closure for a short period of time between 6:00pm and 8:00pm mainly to the anticlockwise side of the road route

All the road closures will be controlled and managed by the Cardiff City Council Traffic Management Team

The road will reopen as soon as the last participant passes each point and as it is safe to do so

We will of course, endeavour to limit any disruption to an absolute minimum
